Little known-fact: The Wizard of Oz celebrated its 70th anniversary this year on September 24th! The Empire State building was lit up ruby red for the occasion. It made me all kinds of happy.
I'm not a fan of uploading stuff so close together, but I figured this needed to go up now if it was going to have any relevancy at all. Just finished it this afternoon for fun, when I had a billion other things I should have been doing.
But it was fun with the sort of forced perspective and trippy Yellow Brick Road--suitable I thought for a movie that is so campy and so thin you don't really take it seriously anyway, so it's just totally fun and candy and gleefulness. And it kind of secretly makes fun of itself. You know it kicks ass.
If you truly don't think it does, you must at least agree that Judy Garland was phenomenal, or you... you'll just have to go somewhere else.
I don't know who the Wizard of Oz belongs to, which is an Oz Fail. D8 But it doesn't belong to me.
