Artist's Comments

I figured I'd upload a few pages of sketches of the characters that have recently been devoted the most time to. I feel bad about not being able to actually have them in the gallery, but since they are really just sketches, and not necessarily fully developed anyway, I suppose they'll have to wait to be worth fully deviating. =P

They are my newest pirate characters. I've wanted a couple of sea-faring characters for a while, and while in a boring class at school I finally was visited by a pair of quite bumbling swashbucklers whom I took an instant interest in.

The younger, prettier of the two is the girl who's birth name is Evelyn, but her pirate name is Brandywine. She's sort of the main character, being that she's the one that starts the plot, but the man has just as big a role as hers. He is an ignoble pirate even among other pirates, who can't seem to get a good reputation up for himself. He is also currently nameless; anyone who wants to throw some ideas at me, I'm more than glad to hear them! =D These two don't necessarily like each other at first, they just team up at one point to help each other escape capture by Her Majesty's Royal Navy, and never seem to be able to lose one another after that. :giggle: At that point, we learn of Brandywine's background, and the nameless pirate winds up helping her travel back to her roots to claim what is rightfully hers. There's still a couple of kinks to work out, but their story came to me a little faster than some of my other characters'. ^^;

Hopefully, Evelyn and [Insert his name here] will show up in my gallery soon. ^____^

Nifty characters!

When I'm stuck for a name, sometimes I go to babynames.com. They have a search function where you can type in a meaning, and it comes up with names that have that meaning. Sometimes it helps me. :D

wonderful job with the expressions! they trully feel alive and you seem rather comfortable with the characters even if they are brand new! I liked the nameless guy the best, he cracks me out. He looks like a funny guy :D

I can't think of any ideas for the name of the guy though so good luck making him tell you his name ;)

:heart::heart::heart: That's the kind of comment that really makes me smile! =D Thank you so much, what you said means so much to me and I'm so happy they come across as being alive (and drawn with ease, that's an important factor, too. :XD:).
Heheheh, yes, my poor nameless pirate certianly is comedic relief. It's good to know you like him and that he looks his part. :giggle: Thanks so much for your wonderful comments!
