Balcony Rain

I always figured Zelenn would like the rain. In a few of my dabbles in stories about her, I describe her healing power as using a kind of a sixth sense that gives her the ability to “feel” or “understand” where the wounded are hurt or where the source of an illness is. That way she can know how to heal. Well, I started to think that it was possible her sixth sense went both ways. So when it rains, she can “feel” etc. the trees and plants and the whole outdoors quenching their thirst and growing healthier. Perhaps even blooming. So I figure she likes when it rains.

But Holy Hanna! It’s ZELENN! Long time no see for Zelenn—and during this extensive absence, what do you think she’s been doing? Falling in love, that’s what. That spicy meatball Zelenn is upstaging there is Prince Zetor (don’t you love the matching “Z”s?), who has been Zelenn’s love interest since the creation of her story. Unfortunately, Zetor got lost in the rubble of neglect for a while, living on only in the developmental character studies and story line, until one fateful day when my best friend said she was pretty sure she was in love. Now I’ve been all “awwwwhowcute” and otherwise disgustingly lovey-dovey, and ever since I’ve wanted to draw something with a couple featured. So Zetor owes his rebirth to her. I even added a carving of a Maple Leaf into the stone wall’s design because my best friend and her beau are Canadian. ^__^ LOL

As far as the actual drawing, the work only lasted about three days—I took the opportunity to work much, much, much harder on the background and shading. I drew this imagining that this is after Zelenn becomes queen of her kingdom—hence the fab outfits.
