People Will Say We're In Love

I don't know what exactly came over me. It all happened very suddenly, when I happened quite accidentally upon a fellow member at my Disney club, =DisneyDreamers. She had the most intriguing icon—one that made me do a double take—and so I had to check out her gallery for answers. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what I got. My first Disney crossover pairing.

Not that I'd never heard of them happening, of course, but I hadn't put any stock or any thought into any of them. But then 's gallery revealed this apparently YouTube-conceived crossover of Ariel and Jim. With one of her own drawings of the pairing, [link] , she included the music video in her artist's description that seems to have really fueled this fandom, and when I watched it, my own babbling, nonsensical fangirl was born in me, and I wanted to try and draw them together!

Probably my attraction to the idea of these two as a couple is mainly because I like the excuse of drawing them, and drawing them together. Their designs are two of the best designs to come out of Disney, in my opinion, plus they're two of my favorite characters—even animated by two of my favorite animators. What more could I ask for?

So I played around with it a little bit. This was the best of a couple of sketches I did of them. I got to really like the whole idea of Ariel being taken out of the sea, and instead "swimming" in the Etherium where Jim sails. So that's why Ariel is "flying" in this picture.

A reasonable part of me is still baffled by the idea of these two ever possibly being paired. But, if people honestly follow the Alice/ Mad Hatter pairing as much as they seem to, it seems justifiable that I have my fun with Jim and Ariel. I hope you guys enjoy it, too!
